Biography

As LA’s versatile choreographer on the rise, Kayla is at the forefront of the next wave of creators. Her work presents a fresh perspective on Contemporary, Jazz, and Musical Theater dance. Kayla has established herself in the art of storytelling through movement. She infuses character into concepts ranging from light, soulful, romantic, to serious, dark, and aggressive.

Kayla recently finished choreographing Sam Tsui’s “Cameo” music video. Her previous work includes the opening number for the Belo Awards hosted by James Corden, a PSA dance short for Wilmer Valderrama’s “Unite4_Good” and Chantal Kreviazuk “Be The Beat” music video. Kayla also creates choreography for unconventional projects that marry the expression and movement of musicians and dancers, as can be seen in Christophe Filippi’s “Continuum”.

 

Kayla has worked supporting high-profile artists such as Cher, Rihanna, Lindsey Stirling, Fifth Harmony, Thomas Rhett, Fall Out Boy, Ariana Grande, John Legend, Calle 13, and Frenship. She appeared in the films La La Land, Jersey Boys, Ted 2, and in TV shows such as The Academy Awards, Dancing With The Stars, Glee, X Factor. Her stage work includes performances with Seth MacFarlane, Neil Patrick Harris, and Shaping Sound.

Kayla was the associate choreographer on Paula Abdul & James Corden’s “Opposites Attract” reenactment, Loreal’s commercial featuring Jennifer Lopez, several seasons of So You Think You Can Dance, and Dancing With The Stars.
