Michael Silas is passion manifested in artistry, creating and performing uniquely expressed through movement. Born in Germany, he moved to Houston as a child and this is where it all began sparking his passion in dance and performing after seeing the “Alief Jazz & Ballet” perform at his high school pep rally. AJB was exactly what Michael needed to begin is dance traninng. It’s evident in the way he creates, skillfully blending character, technique and pure energy into every movement. Michael became a name in the Houston dance scene because of his big personality on stage training at the Houston Met, his big break came in 2002. Booking a world tour with break out star “Kelly Rowland” from the girl group “Destiny’s Child.” After that Michael packed up and began began a new journey in Los Angeles. Making a name for himself in a new city Michael has been blessed to work with Mary J. Blidge, Christina Aguilera, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Nicole Scherzinger, Cassie, Ricky Martin, Iggy Azalea and most recently Mariah Carey to name a few. Michael has also appeared in the film and tv! “The Longest Yard, Ellen, Jay Leno, Kimmel, Gossip Girl, America’s Next Top Model, American Idol, X Factor, Dancing With Stars, Oprah, BET’s “Born to Dance” starring Laurieann Gibson and the hit show Two and a Half Men. After enjoying television,  Michael decided to get his feet wet in Reality TV.  Becoming a contestant on Bravo’s “Step It Up & Dance” where he gained America’s attention by being a stand out contestant and winning hearts with his personality. Michael was at the prime of his career, he received a audition email that would change his life forever. He was chosen as one of Lady Gaga’s original male dancers; gaining the Haus name “Mikey Mugler”  Michael accompanied her on a rise to superstardom. Michael performed in both her jaw dropping“Paparazzi” MTV Music Awards performance, Fame Ball, the Fame Monster andEmmy Award winning Monster Ball world tours . He also appeared in music videos for Poker Face, LoveGame, Paparazzi, Telephone and Judas. Silas accompanied the super star for 4.5 years, stepping away withso much knowledge, appreciation and experience.

Michael began his journey as a choreographer, being blessed to appear on The Braxton Family Values Season 2, where he choreographed the Braxton sisters first performance  in 10 years! Michael choreographs for a number of Billboard recording artists currently, Meital Dohan who’s hit single “On Ya” and “Give Us Back Lovclimbed the UK’s Billboard charts at #5 and in the top 30’s in the US. KORR-A, who’s video Fiyacraka has over a million hits. EDM power duo STASH, who’s single Tear Me Down is climbing the top 40 Billboards currently. Katy Perry’s new artist Ferra’s, who’s not only only a respected song writer but Perry’s best friend. Michael not only choreographed Ferras’s show but also did all the lightning and visual content. Michael has been a leading choreographer for LA’s Fashion Week as well. Choreographing Paulie Gibson’s Spring Show for Style Fashion for ANTM. A number of shows for RTF(RockThatFashion) Project Ethos and now Art’s Hearts Fashion to the list. Michael got the idea after working closely with some of today’s creative power houses. The first experience came with Matthew Williams, who has worked closely with Lady Gaga for 3 years and still works with Kanye West’s brand Yeezy. Williams creative mind can be seen on stage productions, video concepts and any creative direction for the 2 Superstars! Then came Nicola Formichetti, who has worked with the likes of D&G, Alexander McQueen, Gareth Pugh and Prada! Michael’s eye was broaden choreographically and creatively after getting a hands on experience working with Brian Friedman doing multiple fashion shows for Macy’s Passport! Michael see’s himself a innovator, meshing the worlds of fashion and dance to create a experience like nothing before. When not working in the entertainment industry, Michael gives his time, knowledge and talent being a dance judge and JAMZ Nationals, USASF Dance World’s and DDT in Tokyo.  Mentoring, inspiring and teaching dancers around the world, from studios, high schools, college campuses and conventions across the nation. Michael’s personal and professional journey has become a source of inspiration for people around the world and he often shares his positive thoughts and messages via his social media platform.

Michael currently lives in Los Angeles, where he continues allowing the creativity within and new opportunities be his driving force! Dreams do come true, as he is a living testimony!
