Choreographer Michele Lynch’s Broadway credits include EVERYDAY RAPTURE which received rave reviews with Ben Brantley of the New York Times saying, “Michele Lynch’s choreography is double edged, mixing showbiz slickness with the awkwardness of the terminally introspective.” Off Broadway, Michele choreographed the musical adaptation of LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE.
After choreographing the film adaptation of THE LAST FIVE YEARS, Michele moved to Los Angeles to finish her Master’s Degree in Depth Psychology focusing on the combination of dance and choreography in a dream context. Combining that mystical dream world along with her creativity and imagination has added a new dimension to her choreography and creative projects.
Last year she won the prestigious Helen Hayes Award for Choreography for a production of KISS ME KATE at the Shakespeare Theatre in DC. The same production will be making its Seattle 5th Avenue debut in the Spring of next year. She has choreographed the stage show of DIRTY DANCING which is touring in its fourth year to sold out theaters across the United States. She also choreographed DIRTY DANCING in Australia and was nominated for the Helpmann Award for choreography. Most recently, she choreographed SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM at the Hollywood Bowl, starring Vanessa Williams.
