Sara Edwards

Sara Edwards has worked on numerous Broadway productions and national tours with Broadway’s top creatives including  TONY Award winning choreographers Warren Carlyle and Joshua Bergasse and has extensive experience working with celebrities and leading theater performers.

As Associate Choreographer, Sara prepared Bette Midler, David Hyde Pierce, Bernadette Peters, Victor Garber and Donna Murphy for Hello, Dolly! Broadway. Then she went on to re-stage the production for the National Tour starring Betty Buckley. Before that, she was Resident Director/Choreographer on Broadway’s After Midnight (TONY Award for Best Choreography) starring Fantasia, Dulè Hill, KD Lang, Vanessa Williams, Kenny ‘Baby Face’ Edmonds, Toni Braxton and Patti LaBelle. Other Associate Choreographer credits: The Sting starring Harry Connick Jr.; Chaplin; Anastasia workshop; Cagney at the York Theater; and at NY City Center Encores! Me and My Girl, Cotton Club Parade, and On Your Toes. Other Assistant credits: Broadway’s Follies and On the Twentieth Century.

Sara has choreographed gala’s and benefit concerts for Bette Midler and Bernadette Peters. She teaches dance at Broadway Dance Center, CAP 21, and The Growing Studio. Special event associate work includes: The Rockettes Spring Spectacular at Radio City starring Derek Hough and Laura Benanti; Something to Dance About for NYC Ballet’s celebration of Jerome Robbins; Lincoln Center’s Sinatra: A Voice for the Century with Sting, Seth MacFarlane, Sutton Foster, Fantasia, Billy Porter and Christina Aguilera; and the 2014 TONY’s telecast with Hugh Jackman. As Mr Jackman’s one on one dance coach, Sara has worked on late night appearances (also coaching Jimmy Fallon), the Brit Awards and is the Associate Director/Choreographer for his up-coming Hugh Jackman World Tour.

Onstage Sara has performed in Broadway’s She Loves Me, Chaplin, Follies, White Christmas, and with NY City Center Encores! in On Your Toes, Of Thee I Sing and No, No Nanette. Sara has danced internationally with symphonies, toured the US with Evita (dir. Harold Prince) and performed regionally at The Kennedy Center, Ahmanson LA, The Goodman (Turn of the Century, dir. Tommy Tune), La Jolla Playhouse, North Shore Music Theatre (Singin’ in the Rain), Sacramento Music Circus, Music Theater of Wichita, Lyric Theater of Oklahoma, Atlanta TOTS, and Gateway Playhouse. She got her start in Hershey, PA, is a graduate of Oklahoma City University and lives with her family in New York City.
