Tanner Clark

Biography

Born, raised, and trained in San Diego, California, Tanner Clark spent the majority of his time as a young person learning from members of Choreo Cookies like Keone and Mari Martin in his hometown at Studio 429. He discovered his passion for dance in 2007 at 12 years old after failing to connect with nearly every traditional sport, and in his first year as a dancer, Tanner was performing and competing with two teams. By his second he was choreographing and traveling to Hip Hop International in Las Vegas to compete for the US Hip Hop Championship title, and in his third year, he and his team Tru-Definition won the silver medal with his choreography as the closing number. Soon after that he began broadening his knowledge and experience by training with Tessandra Chavez and others in contemporary and ballet, choreographing and teaching for a local high school, traveling to Los Angeles, and generally seeking out every opportunity for growth. By 2011 he was scouted by the owner of Monsters of Hip Hop Andy Funk, subsequently signed by Clear Talent Group, and moved to North Hollywood where his journey as a professional began.

Shortly thereafter he began training at Millennium Dance Complex, Movement Lifestyle, Debbie Reynolds, Edge PAC, and International Dance Academy where he started dancing for choreographers like Kyle Hanagami in skeleton crews and stage performances, and Dejan Tubic and Janelle Ginestra for YouTube videos and performances including the American Music Awards Red Carpet. Since then, he has been fortunate to work with numerous others including Brian Friedman, Nappy Tabs, Willdabeast, Jackie Sleight, Tricia Miranda, Nick Demoura, and Fatima Robinson on television shows like The X Factor, Two and a Half Men, and yet to be released Going Off, national and international commercials and advertisements for Kohl’s, Chicago Town Pizza, and Paul Mitchell, music videos for Prince Royce & Snoop Dogg, Mindless Behavior & Ciara, Anjulie, and most recently Fergie’s “M.I.L.F. $”, and stage performances for ImmaBEAST, Jack Ü & Justin Bieber, and for four years in a row, OTIS Fashion and Design. Tanner’s other work includes two years performing and a mini U.S. tour for artist K. Rose, assisting Michael Rooney in the choreography and casting for Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” performance in the 2016 YouTube Red Christmas Special The Keys of Christmas, and a featured free styling and dancing role in the 2017 film 48 Hours to Live.

Tanner has temporarily relocated to Phoenix, Arizona to aid his family’s growing business. He is determined to continue along the path of growth and experience in dance and choreography while he is there by inspiring others to find and grow their passion for dance just as he did.
